Q Crew Beautifies Mahogany Park

Quintessence Hotel staff members recently mobilized to clean up Mahogany Grove Park in Long Bay Village.
In partnership with West End Community Improvement Club, and Community Representative Hon. Cardigan Connor, the Q crew gathered at the park on Feb. 4 to clear brush, clean debris, and beautify the space.
Quintessence Owner Geoffrey Fieger spearheaded the effort after he noticed the space had become overgrown. He and his wife Keenie have fond memories of their three children playing in the park growing up.
“The park has been there for a long time. Geoffrey was reminiscing on taking his kids there when they were younger and they would enjoy it,” explained Q Hotel General Manager Merla Smith-Halley. “Over Christmas he said let’s organize something and clean it up.”
Q Staff spent three and a half hours at the park. All tools and supplies, along with refreshments, were provided. Their work paid off but there’s more to be done, including repairing concrete benches, painting, and landscaping.
“The Q will be adopting the park and work will be ongoing,” Smith-Halley said.
